So Okami is an extremely interesting game.
In Okami you are playing through a Japanese myth as the god Okami, a warrior wolf that has the powers of creation. You are trying to free Japan from the grasp on an evil Dragon who has been released form its tomb and has spread its demonic pollution throughout the land enslaving the people and filling it with monsters.
As Okami you are the only one who can free Japan and its people and to do that you have to learn painting techniques that unleash your powers. Some of these include creating grenades, restoring bridges, summoning sunlight, bringing trees to life and slashing at enemies with a sword.
This game is awesome. The story is fantastic and the game play is very story driven. The game focuses on saving the people and the environments they live in. As you help characters complete certain tasks, they will help you grow closer to your goals by helping you to equip items and techniques to unlock future areas in the game and increase your prowess in battle.
The battle system is one of the most original that I have ever played. It requires you to paint symbols on a parchment to unleash certain spells and attacks. For regular attacks you can equip complex combinations of weapons and armor that will give you different abilities in these attacks.
The graphics at first glance may not look like some other games on newer systems but the art is beautiful and all of the imagery in the game follows a specific purpose and style. It makes you feel like you are playing in an ancient Japanese scroll.
Okami is an excellent choice if you are looking for an action adventure with an awesome story and innovative game play.
